Formed in 1992, Tindersticks have built a steady following around the UK without actually becoming chart regulars.
They were originally known as Asphalt Ribbons but moved on to Tindersticks and made an instant decision to play the music they wanted to play.
If people listened, all well and good; if they didn't, no matter.
People did listen. Their first album was voted Album of the Year by Melody Maker in 1993.
And they've continued in the same vein ever since.
They recently returned to their home city of Nottingham to play the Albert Hall. It was the first time they'd gigged in the city for 10 years.
That's where The Beat's Dean Jackson caught up with David and Stuart from the band.
