There was only one thing to do on a Saturday night
in the mid-1980s. As soon as you heard the unmistakable whisperings
of Clannad you knew your night's entertainment had started.

The TV series Robin of Sherwood had a mass following
in the 80s and following generations have grown up with the programme
through multiple repeats.
Many of the cast - Ray Winston, Clive Mantle, Judi Trott - have
gone on to do great things.
We speak to the one and only Robin of Loxley
aka Michael Praed about the series and...
Pre-production hopes: It was hoped the
gang of outlaws would be a mediaeval version of the magnificent
seven.
Life on set: The filming was very technical
and pedantic - how it took an awful time - especially with fight
scenes - they are exhausting and occasionally very dangerous.
However, he admits that they played hard and partied.
How Clannad got the TV gig: We hear how
Michael, Clive and Mark first heard Clannad on radio and went
to the producers suggesting that they be used in the series.
What he remembers best: The paycheque.
Keeping in contact with the cast: He
spoke to Clive Mantle the other week. He saw Judie Trott a couple
of weeks ago.
The film locations: Not a frame of it
was filmed in Nottinghamshire. Most of it was in Bristol but also
Cornwall.
His experiences of Sherwood Forest:
He has climbed inside the Major Oak!
Michael also tells us whether he believes in
Robin Hood.
Does he believe? You'll have to listen to the full
interview to to find out.
