Rachel Grant, one of BBC Nottingham website's New
Faces for 2003 tipped for the top, is a very busy bee at the moment.
Since her appearance in the last Bond film, where
she played Peaceful Fountains of Desire (surely the longest Bond
girl name ever), she's been inundated with job opportunities.
You might have seen her on your Cathy Pacific in-flight video, on
the Lynx advert or even ITV1's latest crime drama, Blue Murder,
starring Caroline Quentin.
BBC Nottingham's John Holmes talks to Rachel
about:
- Her latest role in Blue Murder...
"I was in awe of Caroline Quentin the whole time... I learned
a lot just by watching her..."
- One of her biggest influences...
"I went to Ms Morris' School of Dance (In Nottinghamshire)...
Another unbelievable woman... I really get my drive from her..."
- Growing up in Nottinghamshire...
"I was born in Manilla, the Phillipines... I moved to Mapperley,
Nottinghamshire at the age of one..."
- Performing in Nottingham...
"I've performed at the Co-op Arts Theatre, the Nottingham
Playhouse and the Theatre Royal... I would love to go back and
perform there..."
- How she got into martial arts...
"I had to perform martial arts in the Masters of Combat...
I had two weeks training before filming... Now I have a personal
trainer... It's like choreography..."
- Pierce Brosnan and the James Bond film
set...
"He's good looking... charming... easy to work with...
The highlight of my career so far has to be as the Bond Girl...
I think it always will be..."
- Her latest work...
"There's a lot in the pipeline... I've a film out at the
end of the year..."
