Henry Swan has spent years gathering photographs from local people.
He discovered that they not only brought their snaps but stories and memories of yesteryear.
He was so impressed that, just like the photos, he decided they should be given a wider audience.
Now Nottinghamshire County Council's arts team, Next Stage, has agreed to organise a reminiscence project to run alongside the photographic archive.
Notts writer, Andy Barrett, is going to spend time in Ollerton gathering people's stories.
He'll use tales from the town's coalmining history as the basis for three 15 minute monologues.
These will be recorded onto CD and tape by local actors and performed locally against a backdrop of the archived photographs.
Diary dates
Andy will be at Ollerton Public Library on Monday 20th January from 10.30am - 1pm.
He's hoping local people will bring photographs and memories and chat to him.
He also plans to return to the town in February for a longer residency.
For Henry Swan, he's about to see his passion for the past come to life.
