Goose Fair - Present
man with cotton candy
Cotton candy is just one of the attractions of the fair.
The smell of cotton candy and hot dogs will soon be wafting from the Forest Recreation Ground again as the 707th Goose Fair hits town.

You should be prepared for crowds - This is Europe's largest travelling fair.

Wow. An experience to remember

More than one million visitors are expected at the fair, which covers 18 acres and has over 500 attractions including 64 adult rides ranging from the vintage 'galloping horses', to a full size rollercoaster and 40 children's roundabouts.

The fair has been appearing on the Recreation Ground site since 1920. It is traditionally opened by at 12.00pm on the first Thursday of September by the Lord Mayor of Nottingham. However, the fair will be open before this.

Opening times are as follows:
Wednesday 6.00pm-11.00pm
Thursday 12.00pm-11.00pm
Friday and Saturday 11.00am-11.30pm

If you are thinking of taking your car to the fair, think again. There isn’t any public parking on site, but you can take special shuttle buses from the city centre and park-and-ride sites to the fair.

There is no entry fee but you pay for each ride or game you try out. The most you will pay for one ride is £3.
