Artist profile
"A model of how the doby should be inside/within.
A vacant, hollow, whitened chamber scraped clean of any evidence of
the embarrassments of actual life." - David Batchelor (Chromaphobia,
2000)
My fine art practice revolves around the notions of contamination,
confinement and purity.
With these concepts in mind my work manifests itself in the form of
the television still taken from a video I create.
I use this medium as a way of taking a "moment" form something bigger
and I use the colour white to create a false sencse of security; these
both will hopefully create an image that is ambiguous as possible.
These images are of places and events that are not in reality but
in another world in which I control every element. this world is a
higher state.
