The BBC is not responsible for the content of external websites Rescued by Wolves began with Loz Stone and drummer KK jamming through My Bloody Valentine tracks. In February 2009, brother Joe Stone and friend Andy joined the band. They have an album's worth of music but plan to record another EP first. They recently finished their first EP titled 'Observe, Dilute, Replicate' and the art work is even signed by the front man’s own blood. Loz also fronts experimental duo Apparatus of Sleep but wanted to 'throw out the formula and start again from scratch'. "Rescued By Wolves is fun because anything could go wrong at any moment, and it makes it even more satisfying when it works. This band is melodic, raw and noisy." Their common influences are Sonic Youth, Mars Volta and Nirvana but individually range from classical music to noise-rock to jungle and psychedelic rock. Nottingham bandsThey support the Nottingham music scene and say it would be an achievement if they could play a gig with all of the bands they like. "I adore Amusement Parks On Fire, Swimming, the Mighty Pilgrim Fathers, Alright The Captain, The Smears. "And Cuban Crimewave, JC Decaux (take earplugs if you ever see them), and Army Of Flying Robots." Song-writing"The guitar parts come to me out of nowhere, and the lyrics come from a vast collection of diaries I keep. "Then I get Andy and Joe to play counter melodies until we find one that fits, and ply KK with alcohol and give him drumsticks." When talking about the perfect gig, Loz says: "A gig where none of the bands are in competition with each other and the audience are there for the music, not to mosh or compare haircuts." However he says his dream gig would be playing with Black Flag, Pink Floyd, Joy Division and David Bowie. When asked what the band’s long term plans were, Loz says: "We simply want to get our music into as many ears as possible. And at the same time try and make enough money from it to eat and go on tour forever!" You can catch artists like Rescued By Wolves on The Beat.
