Anthony Isaacs

Anthony Isaacs

The former BBC Radio Nottingham tea boy loves vanilla lattes, retail therapy and couldn't live without Abba.

Anthony arrived in Nottingham as a fresh-faced 18 year old and got a job answering the phones for the then Sunday Breakfast Show presenter Andrew David.

Having worked all over the country for the BBC, including Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire and Norfolk, he's now back to the county he loves.

Anthony now lives in Ruddington with his partner and cat Pooh (there used to be a Tigger as well) and likes nothing better than curling up with a book and a cat on the lap.

Beyonce and the Beach Boys

If Anthony wasn't 'in radio' he might be musician - he's been a church organist and choir master and can play the bassoon rather well too.

His music tastes are as wide as it's possible to be – starting at Beyonce, heading towards Kirsty MacColl, stopping off at the Beach Boys and ending up with Michael Buble – but the band he could not live without are Abba.

Outside of work, Anthony is a devourer of television, particularly The Simpsons and Hotel Babylon. He can usually be found ironing whilst watching a James Bond – an easy way to pass the time and get the job done.

A perfect day in our city for Anthony is a breakfast panini and the biggest mug of vanilla latte, followed by retail therapy, a long wander through a bookshop and for lunch... a sandwich and something involving chocolate.

The eternal optimist

He is an eternal optimist and his favourite quotation is from Samuel Beckett:

"Dance first. Think later. It's the natural order."
