Big Night Out

BBC Radio Nottingham's Big Night Out will be celebrating summer in the city on Wednesday 5 August. Find out what's on offer.

Nottingham's image has taken a battering in recent years and if you thought the city centre at night wasn't for you, this event may change your mind.

"The fatal shooting in May, appears to have heightened worries over crime, but you'll certainly see a different side to the city with BBC Radio Nottingham's Big Night Out," says breakfast time presenter Andy Whittaker.

"It's easy to feel that the city centre is just for binge drinkers at night and not a place for couples and families, but that's not my experience. I'd encourage you to come and see what you make of it."

The focus of the evening will be a celebration on the Old Market Square beach from 6.30pm when you can enjoy some free entertainment.

You can then go off to see what Nottingham has to offer at night including a range of special offers which have been organised by Nottingham City Council.

Don't miss BBC Radio Nottingham's Big Night Out on Wednesday 5 August and listen out for the regular updates when you wake up with Andy Whittaker on 103.8FM, 95.5FM and on DAB Digital Radio.
