Nimesh Jani aka Lippicool

Fame can wait for Nottingham student

Before beatboxer Lippicool can head off on the road to stardom he's got to finish his A-levels.

Lippicool is one of the country's top beatboxers but wants to be known for more than that. He says:

"I started out as 'that' beatboxer [but] now I'm pushing myself out as the artist Lippicool. There's a lot more appeal for that."

He's made his first drum 'n' bass track, which will be released later in the year, and has been impressing a certain DJ.

At Radio One's 'One Big Weekend' Lippicool met Chris Moyles, who gave him the chance to show what he could do.

"[Since One Big Weekend] I've had so much more exposure, I'm getting too many calls and the worst thing is I'm doing my A-level exams.

"Once my exams are over that's when the takeover begins."

The summer looks exciting for Lippicool. He's performing at Glastonbury and in Ayia Napa, as well as touring Austria.

In September, he will start a law degree at Leeds Metropolitan University.

You can catch artists like Lippicool on The Beat. The Beat is BBC Radio Nottingham's official Introducing show. You can listen to The Beat every Saturday night from 18.00 until 22.00 (103.8, 95.5fm, 1584am and DAB digital radio). If you miss it you can listen again on the BBC's iPlayer.
