Amanda Bowman

Amanda swapped the New Forest for Sherwood Forest in 1979 and has been in love with Nottinghamshire ever since.

She has been a presenter for several stations over the years, mainly in the East Midlands.

Amanda shares her home with her husband, six fish, two cockatiels, an elderly greyhound, a Jack Russell and a Jack Russell/Chihuahua cross who definitely rules the house with an iron paw!

Her perfect 24 hours in Robin Hood county would start leisurely, sorting out the animals, having lunch with her husband and two grown up children and then walking it off in one of Nottinghamshire's beautiful parks... Bestwood, Wollaton, Arnot, Attenborough, Colwick or Rufford.

David Bowie is Amanda's musical hero but she enjoys a very wide variety of music as well as reading, favourite authors being Angela Carter and Barbara Vine but locally, it's a playwright Stephen Lowe.

She also loves all aspects of food (especially eating), playing computer games and painting walls - she even reads paint charts in bed!

Sunday afternoons with Amanda

Sunday afternoons, Amanda says, is a time for great music and lively conversation.

Her show includes "The Soundtrack of Your Life", three songs which always bring memories of specific times in your life flooding back. Which song do you think is the happiest/ saddest/ funniest?
