Owen and his wife Claire have three young children. They have a home in Nottingham. Owen has a job. Their eldest child has just started school. They are very settled. However, the family are planning to up sticks and move to a city where they know no-one. "In January 2008 God started speaking to us prophetically, through other people who didn't know us, saying that God was calling us to [start a new church]." Help playing audio/video Leap of faithThe couple had already felt that God had been telling them to do this but they were overwhelmed by the prophetic calling. "For someone completely separate from our situation to say 'I feel that God is calling you to church plant', [it] was a very profound experience." According to the New Testament prophecy is a divinely inspired and anointed utterance; a supernatural proclamation in a known language. It is the manifestation of the Spirit of God - not of intellect (I Corinthians 12:7). "The very notion of God actually speaking to us through this person in [this] way really excited us." In the bible the gift of prophecy is one of several spiritual gifts including wisdom, knowledge, discernment, faith, healings, miracles, diverse tongues and interpretation. Moving to BristolOwen and Claire are now preparing to move to Bristol. "I'm scared and excited and exhilarated. We're having to let go of it all and really trust God."
