The missing cockerel

St Mary's Church in Bunny is restoring its weathervane after an earthquake shook it off its perch.

On the night in question in February the tremor shook the weathervane from its perch and cracks appeared in the west elevation of the spire.

It's costing £27,000 for the parish to restore the church.

Weather permitting the cockerel will be back in its roost by the end of November.

Churchwarden Roy Baker and rector Jim Wellington have taken Sarah Julian up St Mary's to show her the work being done.
