BBC Radio Nottingham has won the Station of the Year award at the Gillards which honours achievement in BBC local radio. Listen to our award winning audio.

Radio Nottingham has been declared Station of the Year at the BBC's Frank Gillard Awards, which were held in Leeds on Thursday 16 October.

They saw off competition from BBC Radio Derby and BBC London 94.9 to take the gold award.

It wasn't the only honour the station picked up. Sunday Breakfast presenter Sarah Julian and producer Celia Kellet took the silver award for Faith Programming.

Breakfast presenter Andy Whittaker got bronze for Best Breakfast Programme.

And BBC Radio Nottingham took bronze for Best Radio Promotional Campaign with Big Night Out.

The Frank Gillard Awards

The Frank Gillard Awards are named in honour of the founder of BBC Local Radio in England, Frank Gillard, who died in 1998. This is the ninth year the awards have been held.
