Dean Jackson and The Beat (Saturdays 18:00 - 22:00, BBC Radio Nottingham) are to host the first day of a three day music festival in Old Market Square. Athlete are to headline the event on Saturday 24 May 2008. The actsLocal bands include Nephu Huzzband - a Nottingham band, voted "best live session" on BBC 6Music for 2007 - Censored and The 7.21s. Nottingham DJ Red, who's presently all over radio, will be playing a 50 minute set. As well as Athlete other big name bands include chart toppers Elliot Minor. ![]() The 7:21s There'll be nine and a half hours of free live music. Stage times12.30 - 13.00 Censored Weekend of musicSaturday 24 May is the first of three days of live music in Nottingham. Over the Spring Bank Holiday there'll be stages throughout the city playing live music - from jazz to soul, pop to folk. BBC Radio Nottingham's country show presenter Mick Smith will be appearing in the Robin Hood area at Nottingham castle on Monday 26 May from 12.30 until 4.30. Appearing with him will be The Kitty Hawks, Strummin Steve Jackson Trio and the Downtrodden String Band.
