BBC Radio Nottingham presenter Paul Robey

Paul Robey

Clifton lad Paul grew up listening to BBC Radio Nottingham by the banks of the River Trent.

About Paul

Born: 1st June 1962

Star sign: Gemini and considers himself a typical one!

Favourite music: '70s soul and the lighter side of jazz – also a fan of Ella Fitzgerald, ELO and Everything But The Girl

Other passions: Coronation Street, '60s 'kitchen sink' dramas, Nottingham's heritage and old photographs, not to mention eating out in the many fine restaurants in the city centre

Paul is passionate about local radio and great music. His mum calls him Mr. Music Man!

He has a bizarre wealth of music knowledge, dating back to the '40s, but his favourite songs are from the '60s and '70s.

Paul has been heard on various radio stations in the East Midlands over the last 20 years or so and he's now delighted to join BBC Radio Nottingham – the station that first inspired him.

Across Robin Hood County

Paul was born in Clifton and has fond recollections of growing up in Nottinghamshire during the 1960s, walking by the banks of the River Trent, and regular trips to Mablethorpe!

Every Sunday morning, Paul generates debate about a particular area of Nottinghamshire and he'd like to hear your views. In recent weeks, we've covered Beeston, Mapperley, Arnold, The Meadows and Sherwood.

At 10:00, he celebrates another Golden Year - with your memories and the music of your life. It could be any year from 1956 to 1985. Join him this Sunday morning to see if you can work it out!

There's "Your Song" at 12:45. Tell him about the one song that means everything to you. Perhaps it was the first record you ever bought? If so, let him know where you bought it from and how much it cost, together with some of the memories it brings back for you. Just e-mail Paul with the details.

He also looks forward to hearing about your reunions - whether it's for a school you attended, a workplace, voluntary organisation or just a group of friends you'd like to meet up with again. Just e-mail Paul with the details.

He'll also keep you in touch with all you need to know across Nottinghamshire with recommendations of places to go and things to do on a Sunday afternoon.

A relaxing way to spend your Sunday afternoon on BBC Radio Nottingham!
