Paul Smith's stylist seats in Studio 4
Broadway cinema is top of the world
Nottingham's Broadway cinema has been named the "smartest cinema in the world". Take a virtual look inside the award winning Screen 4.
The Broadway cinema on Broad Street has long been popular with Nottingham movie goers but now it's getting international recognition.
The "world's smartest cinema" is now being ranked alongside iconic global names such as La Pagode, Paris and Mann's Chinese Theatre, Los Angeles.
A unique experience
It's been nominated as only one of ten in the world to provide a "unique cinematic experience". The accolade comes from Total Film magazine for the Paul Smith designed Screen 4.
The magazine praised it's "thirty-five deliciously dapper chocolate, multi-colour striped love seats."
Two new screens
Costing £5.7 million the re-development of the Broadway was completed in October 2006.
It's now got two new cinema screens, a new bar, offices for media and film companies, and a glazed facade that displays commissioned work by digital artists.
Cinema managers say: "It's high praise indeed for a creative collaboration between Nottingham's well known designer and independent cinema and testament to Nottingham's growing reputation for innovative creative design."
