I've tried my hand at many professions, I've been a bass guitarist in a band, worked for British Gas, rode the internet boom in Soho in London and had a brief stint serving Her Majesty in the Customs and Excise.

By day

Thankfully I decided a job in journalism was for me and have now found my niche at BBC Radio Nottingham. 

Previously a reporter I'm now hidden from the public producing Andy Whittaker's Breakfast Show.

Mark "performs" in We Are The Barnacles

I've known Andy for years but not this early in the morning. Luckily we seem to get on and have a laugh.

I enjoy finding out the facts people don't want you to know, and surprising Andy with unusual guests. The tale of Captain Dan the Demon Dwarf, his vacuum cleaner and a tube of glue comes to mind!

By night

Away from the show I enjoy watching and playing football.

I also keep my hand in on the bass and guitar helping out my brother's interesting glam rock sea-shanty band We Are The Barnacles.

Originally from Glasgow I've been enjoying Scotland's glorious Euro 2008 qualifying campaign - even if the Breakfast Show team have been giving me stick.

If we make it I'll definitely be dusting off my passport.
