Lego Star Wars is one of the most popular games of the moment. At GameCity in October enthusiasts will be able to find out more about its development. Jonathan Smith is Development Director of Travellers Tales, the firm behind Lego Star Wars. The latest innovation in the series is The Complete Saga. Fans going to see Jonathan's talk will not only see the new game in action but how it made it off the drawing board. "It was completely unlike the events the Games industry tends to organise for itself and it was particularly enjoyable for me to reach out to a broader audience than the people who normally talk about video games." ![]() Jonathan Smith of Travellers Tales Who's afraid of video games?Jonathan won't just be talking about his own product. On Saturday 27 October 2007 he'll be part of a panel answering questions from concerned parents about games and platforms. "There are still many parents for whom the world of the video game is still a closed book," says Jonathan. "They haven't really experienced it for themselves and don't know what the impact might be. Hopefully we can engage with those fears. It's right that parents should have their own views. The future2007 has been the year of the Wii and the PS3 but Jonathan believes the industry will veer in a new direction in the months ahead. "A lot of the developments are to do with online connectivity and participation. The ability to bring communities of players together and share things together is going to be very energising."
