David Jackson

David Jackson

A Notts lad born and bred with a great passion for sport, David says he has the best job in the world.

Brought up in Arnold, David's always been a keen follower of sport in Nottinghamshire, and would be there watching our local sides if he wasn't on the radio talking about them!

He wasn't always involved in broadcasting, having worked at a variety of places including; The Nottingham Playhouse, Experian, Severn Trent Water and Powergen before getting his break at the BBC in 2000.

David's always been interested in radio from a young age, he was brought up listening to the likes of Martin Fisher and Andrew James on BBC Radio Nottingham, when he dreamed of one day being able to do their jobs!

Over the years, David has presented and produce just about every show on the station, but can now be found on Monday nights presenting our football phone-in, Matchtalk, as well as Saturday afternoons covering Mansfield Town games.

David's other passions include films (he's a Woody Allen fan) and reading (Kazuo Ishiguro is amongst his favourite authors), and he can sometimes be found trying to play five-a-side football, although a career playing the sport doesn't look likely!
