Who are your influences? General British rock 'n' roll - The Rolling Stones, Oasis, The Beatles, The Who, Sex Pistols, Stone Roses, Faces, Slade. We sound a bit like... Well, we're generally told we sound just like general British rock 'n' roll but with our own fresh sound to it. Our songs are appealing to most generations. Could a Nottinghamshire band/artist ever be big? Oh yeah of course they could, that's what we're hoping for. But there doesn't seem to be much of a scene that everyone's talking about at the minute. Bands can be big but you've just got to be prepared to work for it and when you get the bigger gigs go and have it and leave your mark there. Do you think Nottinghamshire is a good place for music? It isn't too bad really, there's a bit of one dimensional genres in places but on a whole it's on the way up and we hope to be flying the flag soon. It's got some really good venues and there are some good bands, but someone's got to take it by the balls. What was your best gig? Headlining the Dirty South Bar in London on Terry Hall's (The Specials) night. A fantastic sold-out venue and the atmosphere was out of this world, something I've never witnessed watching local gigs. The atmosphere was just electric and we played fantastically well, so yes it's there, but The Cavern is a close second. Any examples of 'rock 'n' roll' misbehaviour? We've taken bars over, been escorted out of hotels, there's been eruptions in the crowd, riot vans called to hotels - all of which is in the rock 'n' roll bible! How did the band get together? We originally started out in 2001 but we were more a covers band to start with. Dan got into writing songs and we realised that we were on to something good so we just started writing more and more. As a consequence we've headlined gigs and have a new CD under our belts, so all is going well. Which Notts figure should have a statue? I'd say Robin Hood. He's the reason why Nottinghamshire is known. |
