Plenty of work has gone into developing the Attenborough Nature Reserve over the years. Now all the hard work has been recognised. The centre has come ninth in a poll reflecting the top 10 eco-friendly destinations in the world. It was compiled by an eco-tourism expert. Only Loch Ossian hostel in Rannoch Moor, Scotland is judged better in the UK. Why it's so goodNottinghamshire Wildlife Trust's Erin McDaid has been explaining why Attenborough's done so well. "The real fundamental change over the last couple of years has been the construction of the nature centre. "We made every effort to make it as environmentally sustainable as possible. I think that's what's resulted in our inclusion in the top 10." A great honour"We're really pleased the nature reserve has been included," says Erin. "It's a great place to see wildlife and visitors know they're not changing wildlife by using the nature centre." The futureMore developments are planned at Attenborough. They're hoping to spend £80,000 on a new series of habitat improvements. Help playing audio/video Erin McDaid says: "The continued success of the nature centre is really important because what it does is enable us to plan for the future of the nature reserve with confidence."
