Nottingham's hidden disabilities

Interviews by Tom Whalley
People with learning disabilities, explain what life is like living and learning in Nottingham.

The story of my life by Tracey Jane Whyler

I am 42 years old and I live in a group home in  Nottingham with 13 other people. I enjoy swimming, snooker and basketball. I come to Nottingham Mencap to work in the kitchen. I also do basic skills and I do cleaning as paid work. I am doing a health and beauty course.

I have learnt to read and write in the basic skills class.

I have become more independent travelling on buses. I will soon move to an independent house with support. My aim is to get paid work in catering and pass all my certificates.
