Here in the middle of a clearing at Sherwood Pines it’s a picture perfect evening for a gig. The sun is shining, the air is warm and the beautiful tunes of 'Anechoic' and 'Morning Runner' drift through the forest while people gather on the grass to enjoy a drink or a picnic. As the Embrace boys step onto the stage the huge crowd erupts and the band swing straight into foot stomping, hand clapping 'No Use Crying'. Danny drinks in the atmosphere and dances and wiggles and punches the air with a certain wild abandon. Throughout the gig Danny sports an immense grin which is mirrored by every member of the audience.

A lot of the songs off the latest album, 'This New Day', are thrown into the set this evening including the rousing, anthemic world cup song 'World at Your Feet' which gets everyone singing along an no doubt leaves many feeling ready to take on the world. Everyone on the perimeter of the main crush was encouraged to unfold their arms or remove their hands of their pockets and to jump up and down, clap, nod their heads and generally move around. Danny’s request is heeded as the audience becomes a sea of kinetic bodies when Embrace blast out some of their rockier numbers. So many things about this evening were overwhelmingly glorious. The setting is incredibly unique and coupled with the brilliant weather, spectacular lighting, amazing crowd and, most importantly, the raw passion and wall of sound exuding from the stage combine to make a perfect evening.
