The gig follows last year's sell out concert at the same 3,000 acre venue by The Beautiful South. Forest gigs began in 2001 and other top acts such as Paul Weller, Pulp, Status Quo and Jools Holland have all appeared in Sherwood. Organiser Chris Bray says: "It will be a great opportunity to see two fantastic bands in such an idyllic location." "The forest has gained a brilliant reputation as a venue for live music and the cash we raise will help us care for our woodlands across the region." Who are Embrace? Embrace is a UK-based quintet of musicians who, although latecomers to the Britpop phenomenon, proved to be one of its most promising post-Oasis standard-bearers. Led by brothers Danny (vocals) and Richard McNamara (guitar), the band was founded in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, in the late 80s.
Who are Morning Runner? Morning Runner only formed three years ago but are now being tipped for the top. It is rumoured that Coldplay went back into the recording studios to rework parts of their latest album, X & Y, after listening to a Morning Runner demo. The band's debut album, Wilderness is Paradise Now, is scheduled for release in March 2006. A weekend of music This gig is part of a weekend of music in Sherwood Pines Forest Park. On the Saturday night UB40 play at the same venue.
