Mike Young

Mike started off broadcasting on Kick FM - the Nottingham Trent University Radio station. He won a BBC Radio 1 Student Radio Award in 1997 for his efforts.

Mike Young is a familiar voice in Nottingham. His first job in radio was at the tender age of 21 when he joined the launch team at the East Midlands regional radio station Century 106FM in 1997.

Mike has lived in Nottingham since 1994 when he came here to study Broadcast Journalism at university. He's never left!

He's been part of the team here at BBC Radio Nottingham since January 2001.

He can now be heard on the BBC Radio Nottingham Saturday and Sunday morning shows from 6.00am.
