Robin Hood

James Nesbitt
James Nesbitt to play the Sheriff?

The new Sheriff of Nottingham

The BBC is planning a Saturday night version of Robin Hood. We're building up the ideal cast.

The BBC says it would like to create a new series based around the Nottinghamshire legend.

The promise is it'll be as glossy as the recent Dr Who.

No cast details have been announced (although James McAvoy of Shameless fame is being suggested as Robin).

We've decided to build the ultimate cast.

So far, you've voted Sean Bean as the person you'd like to see play Robin Hood in the new updated version of the story.

You've also voted for Matt Lucas to play Friar Tuck, Ray Winston to play Little John, Kate Beckinsale to play Maid Marian and Rhys Ifans to play Will Scarlet.

A repeat performance

Now the cast has been completed. You want Alan Rickman to reprise the role of the Sheriff of Nottingham that he played in the Kevin Costner movie Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.
