A week of theatre and dance for children comes to the Lakeside in June. The International Children's Theatre and Dance Festival includes award winning artists from Canada, Italy and Germany. Some of the highlights include... Architects of Air (Saturday, 11th - Saturday, 18th June 2005)

In 2005 over 5000 people enjoyed Ixilum. This year Architects of Air are back with another giant inflatable - a bit like a bouncy castle but instead of bouncing on it you walk through it, enjoying the undeniably gorgeous colour. Take a look at our panoramics inside Ixilum for an idea of what to expect. Suitable for all the family. If You Go Down To The Woods Today (Tuesday and Wednesday, 14th and 15th June 2005) Spiders? Heights? Dropping your ice lolly? Cas Public, a sometimes funny and sometimes startling Canadian dance theatre production explore some of the things that everyone is afraid of. Suitable for 6 - 12 year olds and all the family. Romanzo D'Infanzia (Wednesday and Thursday, 15th and 16th June 2005) A childhood tale all the way from Italy that will capitvate the young - aimed at 6 - 10 year olds. Two children yearn to break away from their parents and dream of seeking their own way in the world. But will they dare to do it? Queen of Colours (Friday and Saturday, 17th and 18th June 2005) An award-winning mix of shadow puppetry, live piano, painting and video. The story of a little Queen who lives in a black a white world. Then along comes the Court Painter and Court Musician, who magically bring colour and adventure to her world. Suitable for 4 - 6 year olds. Other events during the festival include The Big Art Thingy in which you are invited to help decorate the entrance to the Lakeside's Recital Hall, tales with an international flavour told by Ansell Broderic, street theatre and the Big Balloon Thing!
