The Raveonettes - back in black

The Raveonettes are back with a new album and frontman Sune Rose Wagner has been speaking to BBC Radio Nottingham's Dean Jackson about it.

The Raveonettes are...

Sune Rose Wagner - guitar, instruments, vocals

Sharin Foo - bass, vocals

Danish duo The Raveonettes are about to release their third album 'Pretty In Black'. The sound of the new album is set to be more poppy and expansive than its predecessors, with less of their trademark wall of distortion.

The core duo of Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo have now expanded to a five-piece, with the addition of extra musicians including bassist Anders Christensen.

The new album features guest appearances from Ronnie Spector, Suicide's Martin Rev and former Velvet Underground drummer Maureen Tucker.

The Raveonettes recently completed a UK tour, including a gig at the Rescue Rooms in Nottingham. The band are about to embark on a lengthy stint in the States, before returning to Europe for the festival season.

Dean Jackson from BBC Radio Nottingham's The Beat has been speaking to Sune Rose Wagner from The Raveonettes about:-

  • The new album 'Pretty in Black'
  • Working with some music legends
  • Touring the UK
  • Their jetsetting schedule
  • The fans back home in Denmark and around the world
