Diana Peasey

Making her own headlines

She's been a journalist in Nottingham for 20 years but Diana Peasey is hanging up her microphone.

You can't say that Nottinghamshire is a boring place. It's certainly had its fair share of eye catching news stories over the past twenty years.

The miners' strike, Kegworth, the capture of Dennis Nielsen.

Just three of the stories covered by the former BBC Radio Nottingham journalist Diana Peasey.

After more than thirty years in the media she's retiring from the business in the hope of fulfilling an ambition to become a writer.

She's been talking to BBC Radio Nottingham's John Holmes about:-

  • Why she's retiring
  • Arriving at BBC Radio Nottingham in 1984
  • Her early life
  • The big stories she's covered
  • The death of presenter Dennis McCarthy
  • The death of Princess Diana
  • Future plans
