Interviews

New Order from 1983
Scary hair styles - New Order 1983

The new New Order talk

They're almost rock pensioners but New Order have gone back to basics for their new album.

New Order are the band that just won't go away. When Ian Curtis took his own life and Joy Division fell apart they re-emerged as New Order and, through thick and thin, have been around ever since.

Now they're back on the scene with a new single (Krafty) and upcoming album (Waiting For the Siren's Call).

But can they ever top World in Motion? Or Blue Monday?

The Beat's Dean Jackson, from BBC Radio Nottingham, has been talking to Peter Hook and Stephen Morris. During the interview they discuss:-

  • The "new" New Order
  • Creativity overload
  • New CD "Waiting For the Siren's Call"
  • The jolly New Order
  • New band member Phil Cunningham
  • The mystique of the band
  • The Blue Monday phenomenon

To listen to the interview use the links on the right hand side of this page.

You can hear more top music interviews every week on The Beat on BBC Radio Nottingham between 6pm and 10pm every Saturday.
