Erasure's Andy Bell
Erasure's Andy Bell

Ding dong - a chat with Erasure's Andy Bell

Don't call it a comeback, this is more a rebirth for synth pop duo Erasure. Singer Andy Bell reveals all to The Beat's Dean Jackson.

When it comes to longevity there aren't many bands can boast to have outlasted Erasure (all right - The Rolling Stones!).

Even they must have been shocked when new single Breathe crashed into the charts at number 4. So hopes are high for the release of the album Nightbird at the end of January.

Then there's the tour of the UK that calls in at Nottingham's Royal Concert Hall on March 7th.

Plenty for Erasure singer Andy Bell to talk about with Dean Jackson...including plenty of shocks such as:-

The new album - Nightbird
  • How Andy didn't think much of the last three Erasure albums
  • Going back to their roots with Nightbird
  • Recording with colleague Vince Clarke in Brooklyn
  • Feeling more a part of the production process
  • The sleeping habits of Andy and Vince
  • The Erasure rebirth
