Bottle Huthwaite air
Bottled Huthwaite air

A lot of hot air?

We might be coming up to Christmas but here’s a story you’d think we’d cover in April! A Huthwaite man has decided to sell something extra special during the festive season – a jar of Huthwaite air!

Strange but true. And guess what – the idea came to Michael Oates out of thin air (actually while he was relaxing in the bath).

That was 18 months ago. It’s taken him that long to come up with the perfect air filling technique.

Still think this is an April fool? Well, there’s a limited edition of 10 jars of Huthwaite Air on offer; each comes with its own numbered and signed certificate and has a special runic seal.

Now they’re up for sale on eBay although, if truth be told, they’re not exactly selling like hot cakes.

To hear more from Michael click on the link in the right hand corner of this page.  You'll hear Michael talk about:-

  • His idea for Huthwaite air
  • How he bottles the product
  • Reactions from people
  • What he plans to sell next

There’s also an interview with David Belbin, an eBay expert and comments from members of the public.

The AirMaster
I must agree to some extent with Courtney! However, The AirMaster would have to disagree with the statement that 'Genuine Huthwaite Air' is 'really worth nothing'! To we favoured people who live in Huthwaite, Huthwaite Air is priceless (as is The AirMaster!).

Courtney
This is very stupid i must say. Selling air? Don't we just about breath it everyday. The only other thing that i have to say is that anyone buys that air that they must be crazy either that or just want to waste there money on something that is really worth nothing.
