Soulwax interview

Belgain band Soulwax visited BBC Nottingham’s studios recently to chat to the Beat’s Dean Jackson.

The Belgian band is probably not as well known as they should be. Even popular novelist Nick Hornby devoted a chapter to one of their records in his '31 songs' book.

And their link to Nottingham? They're from Nottingham's twin city of Ghent.

Stefaan Van Leuven and David Dewaele from the band met up with The Beat’s Dean Jackson recently and discussed the band’s fortunes. During the interview they talked about:

•  Their new single 'Any Minute Now'.
•  Having ‘Flood’ as their producer.
•  Flood’s confusing, but effective ideas.
•  Blowing up their modules.
•  The ‘2 Many DJs’ connection.
•  Taking their new album on tour.
•  Playing to a Japanese audience.

(Use the link in the top right hand corner of this page to listen to the interview with Soulwax).

Soulwax’s new album Any Minute Now is released on August 23rd.

You can hear more interviews on this site and on The Beat, BBC Radio Nottingham's premiere music show every Saturday night between 1800 and 2200.
