Gig
review: 18 Visions
Matt was expecting something predictable and miserable from
this band, but he was in for a surprise.
Turn
on, tune in, drop out
Matt has something against careerism and how the CV has become
more important than a contribution to academia. "Do what you
wish to do, and be who you wish to be, and career prospects be damned."
Gig
review: The Izzys
8th November
"Well-made, middle-of-the-road, plain rock" was Matt's
verdict on the Izzys' gig in York.
The
University Personality
3rd November 2004
Like Dr. Jekyll and his dear friend Mr. Hyde, a new student can
change from a reasonably normal wet-behind-the-ears youth into a
University Personality, crafted for the purpose of attracting
a mate, appearing interesting and eccentric and fascinating, blending
in, or simply becoming a worker drone.
Nostalgia
19th October 2004
Who doesn't love a spot of 1980s nostalgia? Children's cartoons
of the eighties! Weren't they wonderful? Yes, the eighties was a
great time for anthropomorphic peas teaching the facts of life,
and malformed stuffed toys showing us the value of diversity.
Introducing
Matt
19th October 04
Matt spends mush of his time reading the beat poets and listening
to music by
bands such as Amen Corner and Pink Floyd.
