The
death of 19-year-old Caroline Stuttle in Australia struck a chord
across North Yorkshire.
Determined
that some good should come out of it, her family have set up a charity
in her memory - Caroline's Rainbow Foundation.
Now
BBC North Yorkshire and the foundation have joined forces to help
educate teenagers in how to avoid potentially dangerous situations.
The
Follow the Rainbow Appeal will raise funds to pay for a special
video and other classroom material.

These
will be used by the police, schools and colleges throughout North
Yorkshire as part of a co-ordinated safety campaign in the next
academic year.
It's
estimated at least £25,000 will be needed to fund the safety
campaign. Members of the public are being asked to help raise money
for the BBC North Yorkshire Follow the Rainbow Appeal.
Private
donations are welcome, but it's hoped that people across the county
will run events in aid of the appeal as well.
