Flamingoland in Kirby Misperton
near Malton is a theme park with nail-biting rides, a holiday
village, rides for children and a zoo with
Siberian tigers, sea lions, monkeys, meerkats, zebras, camels,
reptiles and penguins as well as flamingos!
In the Yorkshire Law and Order Museums
in Ripon, stand in the dock to receive your deportation sentence
to Australian in the Courthouse Museum, spend some time in the
Victorian cells in the Prison and Police Museum, and imagine being
deloused before work and porridge in the Workhouse Museum.
Castle Howard is a great place
to spend the day. You can wander round the house and the gardens,

Royal Pump Room Museum where you can learn about England's premier
spa town, home to the strongest sulphur wells in Europe. Over
15,000 people used to visit every summer, and now you too can
sample the delights of the sulphrous water!

Museum lets you experience how people lived and worked

Clifford's
Tower is a motte-and-bailey castle in the middle of the
city.

It was built in 1068 by
William the Conqueror and in 1189,
the city's Jewish residents took refuge in the tower from
the angry mob that had gathered outside. Refused safe
passage, those inside chose to die at each other's hands
rather than face the violent crowd outside.
