The Falling Spikes

If you've had your fill of energy indie bands there's something refreshing about the laidback 'widescreen' sound of York band The Falling Spikes. Less 'get on the dancefloor' and more, sit back with a nice glass of wine. Hear their live session.

Influenced by Spacemen3, Spiritualized and the Brian Jonestown Massacre, The Falling Spikes have a sound that stands out among Arctic Monkey wannabes and 'off the shelf' indie bands.

One thing's for sure, you can't dance along to these guys. Unless you're one of those people who stands around in tourist areas painted yellow and moving slowly. That might work.

To enjoy this York band's own brand of psychedelic shoegazey dronerock you want to be sitting down, enjoying a nice cool glass of something.

On Thursday 6th December The Falling Spikes played a live session for More Raw Introducing on BBC Radio York. Have a listen.
