Kate Lock is always on the look out for ways to try and reduce the environmental impact of her family's life in a terraced house in York. So when she was challenged by local composting support group the York Rotters to try composting for herself, she couldn't really say no. ![]() The final product After a slightly shaky start, the composting bug has bitten (not literally, worms don't bite) and Kate is now the proud owner of several healthy composting bins. Almost all household waste that can't be recycled now ends up in the compost. Even the family pets have been involved in the process.
