Eastfield!By Natalie, Emily, Molli, Kyle, Gareth and Joe Six students from George Pindar Community Sports College tell us about where they live. Sharing their thoughts on Eastfield and what it's like to live there. ABOUT EASTFIELDBy Natalie Baker, Emily Walker, Molli Candler, Kyle Myerscough, Gareth Allen and Joe Manson ![]() We all attend George Pindar Community Sports College (GPCSC) which is in the centre of Eastfield and we’ve been asked to write about our area. Eastfield is on the south of Scarborough and we’re very lucky as we are surrounded by beaches and countryside. As we are a bunch of 13 year olds we thought we’d write about how Eastfield feels to us. OUR SCHOOLOf course, school is a main part of our lives and it has very high standards and over 800 students attending. The school has provided us with a skate park which is very popular to people our age. ![]() It is next to the leisure centre which is open for members of the public and has a shape shop, astro turf and a brand new indoor tennis centre which cost loads of money!!! We all think it’s great that money is being put into making Eastfield a much better place to live and work. There are also our local primary schools – Braeburn, Overdale and St George’s which all have fantastic playing fields so children in our area have lots of opportunities to exercise and enjoy the fresh air. SHOPS AND FACILITIESEastfield has a local shop parade which includes a butchers, bakery, pet shop, fish and chip shop, a Proudfoot supermarket, charity shops, chemist and hairdressers so Eastfield has everything you’d ever need! The Library has been recently ‘done up’ and has loads of resources – we can use the internet, magazines, all sorts of books, CDs and more. We can use the library to help with our homework but we can also hire out the latest music CDs! ![]() THE FUN OF THE FAIRRecently, the fair visited us for a week. It had rides like The Twister, Waltzers, Crazy Snake, swings and a fun house. There was a dance zone for everyone but not many boys tried it out! We liked the fair because it gave us something to do in the evenings but we didn’t like the litter that was left behind. ON THE UPWe think Eastfield has a lot to offer if you’re prepared to look for it but we are excited about the changes to the area that will only keep it getting better and better. last updated: 08/04/2008 at 17:04 SEE ALSOYou are in: North Yorkshire > Places > Places features > We Love...
