Country music has been a feature on BBC Radio York ever since Bob joined us 20 years ago, and he's still as passionate about the music. 'Hot Country' takes a fascinating journey through the years and genres of country music.

First memory:  Almost drowning in a boating pool at Bridlington.

First record bought:  Duane Eddy's Theme from Dixie.

First job:  BBC TV cameraman.

Little known fact about yourself:  Written 22 books.

"My desert island luxury? A big box of Belgian chocolates."

Favourite food and drink:  Greek salad and ouzo.

Favourite place in the world:  Canada’s Rocky Mountains.

Favourite place in North Yorkshire:  Robin Hood’s Bay.

Any pet hates:  Being unable to resolve problems outside my control.    

What would your desert island luxury be:  A big box of Belgian chocolates.

Most embarrassing radio moment:  Hosting a phone in – with one caller in two hours.    

Best radio moment:  In the studio with Keith Skues at Radio Hallam. He said he'd pop out to the office and left me to cover the next 60 minutes. That was some audition. 

Who would be your dream co-presenter:  Dolly Parton.

If you weren't a broadcaster what would you be:  Richer.

Describe your programme in one sentence:  Switch on to Nashville's Country Countdown, the new releases and some great oldies - every Tuesday at 8 with Bob Preedy.
