BBC Radio York Songwriter of the year 2006 BBC Radio York is looking for the county's best songwriter. All you have to do is send us some of your songs on a CD or Minidisc along with the application form. Presented by Michael Brothwell, North Yorkshire Folk crams as much into two hours as is humanly possible. Perhaps most important are the tracks from nationally acclaimed artists and local talent, but on top of these there's the What's On Guide, a Live Set, and new material from our resident port Tony Morris. On top of all of this, a listener comes in every week to share tracks that they love - so there's absolutely no reason why you can't get on air yourself (see bottom of page for email address). How can I listen? You can listen to the programme live by tuning into BBC Radio York at 7pm on Wednesdays. You'll find it on 103.7, 104.3 and 95.5 FM and 666AM. You can also listen to the programme online with the BBC Radio Player. And if you miss a show, you can hear a recording of that week's programme using the Listen Again facility in the BBC Radio Player. You can open radio player by clicking on the 'Listen Live' link on the right hand side of this page. Resident poet Tony Morris is a full time poet/performer/multi-instrumental improvising-musician and painter. What you hear is what you get. York born, bred and educated, save for three years at Newcastle University, he does his own 'thing' in his own inimitable way, continually changing and experimenting. North Yorkshire Folk track listing Each week, Michael updates this list with the tracks that have been played in North Yorkshire Folk. You can find them at the bottom of this page. |
