Ranvir Singh

Ranvir is the co-presenter of North West Tonight.

Ranvir Singh

A true 'Lancashire lass', Ranvir Singh has spent all of her professional career with the BBC.

As of September 2007, Ranvir now shares the presentation of the programme with Gordon Burns. She's also a regular on the late night bulletin, where she alternates presenting with Annabel Tiffin.

Born in Preston and educated at Lancaster University, where she studied English and philosophy, Ranvir returned to Preston to complete a postgraduate qualification in journalism.

She began her broadcasting career at BBC Radio Lancashire, after being offered a six-month contract while still on work experience, and subsequently moved on to BBC GMR (now Radio Manchester) in time for the 2002 Commonwealth Games.

Ranvir then moved on to television and played a key role in presenting the nationally-broadcast Manchester Passion on Good Friday, 2006. She has also reported from Jack Straw's constituency for the Dimbleby election broadcasts.

Outside of the newsroom, Ranvir enjoys dancing and shopping... in New York!
