Dave Guest

Dave started work in local papers after leaving school.

He worked on the Lancaster Guardian before moving to the Evening Post in Wigan and then freelanced on the nationals in Manchester before joining the BBC in 1983.

Since then, he has undertaken various roles with the BBC including producing and editing North West Tonight.

He became education correspondent in 1993, social affairs correspondent in 2000 and in 2006 was appointed chief reporter.

He says that his job is more like a hobby because he enjoys it so much. Every day is different, and he gets to meet an amazing array of people throughout his working life.

Dave is married and has two daughters.
