Warrenpoint - Sandy Bottoms swimming club

The summer of 2003 in Northern Ireland has been really fine and warm. The not so hardy have been venturing into the Irish Sea. Some intrepid folks are at it all year round!

You wonderful hearty folk!! I swim everyday also but it's in a local school pool. Swimming is the best exercise for the "mature" folk, including me. I swim 1/2 mile doing the overhand stroke and would do more but would not be able to stay awake the rest of the day!!! I enjoyed your story.

Thank you so much to Marie McStay and team for the item on Sandy Bottom, Warrenpoint. To hear the accent of the locals and to see the sea where I learned to swim as a child...... unbelievable magic! But please....the Carlingford hills are actually MOUNTAINS! And very beautiful they are too. Please, please may we have more "radio pictures".
