Dianaimh
Ward is now in her final year at Queens University. We've been
following Dianaimh since she began back in 2000 and three years
later, she'll soon be
out in the big bad world! Log on every week to see what Dianaimh
and her mates have been up to and tell us your student stories
too. |

Diary entry 18: 8 March 2003
"It really hurts to know that I spend more money on photocopying my
anthropology readings than I’ve spent on drink and clothes this semester!"
Diary entry 17: 1 March 2003
'Despite the horrible revelation last week that I no longer really have
a bank balance because I’m so poor I decided that a couple of drinks
with the girls would cheer me up!'
Diary entry 16: 23 February 2003
'As usual Niall and John were too busy drinking to dance so I spent most
of the night trying to convince them to dance. Worryingly the only song
I got them all to dance to was YMCA!'
Diary entry 15:
17 February 2003
'After getting a dance mat for my birthday no one seemed to want to play
it because you do look sorta ridiculous dancing on it! However, with a little
Dutch courage we managed to persuade most people to take a turn, but I must
admit, Ciara and I are the house’s dancing Queen’s. We may look
silly but we can still give Kylie or Beyonce a run for their money!!!'
Diary entry 14: 9 February 2003
'I thought the first week back to university would be a slight shock to
the system. Actually getting out of bed before ‘Neighbours’
isn’t something I’m used to, but the new timetable seemed to
deal with this issue.'
Diary entry 13:
26 January 2003
'I got the annual huge bottle of Jack the Lad courtesy of Niall’s
sisters. One of the best pressies by far though was the Orlando Bloom poster
which Niall got me which I haven’t stopped drooling over since Christmas
day!'
Diary entry 12:
22 December 2003
'I haven’t brought a single book or folder home and the only thing
that now scares me is the fact that in less than six months I may be graduating.
But before all that starts I’m definitely going to get a few nights
out at Diceys (Strabane) with Jack the Lad!'
Diary entry 11: 15 December 2003
'I finally decided that being anti-social wasn’t my thing so I went
to Auntie Annie’s, with all the boys and Caroline. I had decided to
reacquaint myself with Jack Daniels (one of my favourite boyfriends!) but
this resulted in me dancing the whole night beside Caroline and making a
general fool of myself.'
Diary entry 10:
8 December 2003
'The QUB orchestra were performing at the weekend and with last
minute panics about not knowing the pieces, it really was an exhausting
performance. The worst thing about it though was that the audience didn’t
even bother to clap after our first piece!'
Diary entry 9: 1 December 2003
'I'm a third year anthropology student now and I still haven’t found
the anthropology section in the main library!' Read
