Quare: Increase or emphasise the quality, quantity, frequency.

'He's quare 'n' lucky at the horses.'

'She has a quare brain in thon napper of hers.'

'They got a quare day for it.'

 

Quilt: Daft person, usually an overweight one.

'Not even an x-ray wud find a day's work in thon quilt.'

Brian Todd adds: Quilt was, in my experience used as a term of disgust about a person. Thon "quilt" referring to a peron of dubious integrity,it had no connection with either daft nor overweight in my experience..
