The beach at Hammamet is situated right next to the medina. It’s
mainly used by local’s and there isn’t a lot of shade. The
pretty fishing boats make it a really nice setting to catch a few
rays.
This is known as the beach of the cemetery and is on the north side
of the medina. It’s quite rocky so it’s not ideal for
swimming but it is perfect for snorkelling. As it’s a quieter
beach it's great for secluded sun bathing.
All beaches here are public but most hotels cordon off certain parts
for guests only where you can enjoy free sun-beds and free parasols.
But if that’s not good enough for you in the two star sections
you can go and enjoy the paddling privileges of the five star hotels,
on less of course, those beaches are full. Then they will ask you
to sling your hook.
