Window
shopping. Stores like Sak’s put a lot of time and effort
into these beautiful window displays and the local and tourists love
them so much that they’ve had to erect barriers to stop people
getting crushed.
People
watching. New York has millions of citizens ranging from
the freaky to the fabulous. Joe thinks he fits in somewhere!
Free
art. Many of the museums and the art
galleries have times of the week where they wave their admission charges.
Here at the Guggenheim
it’s on Friday nights.
Be
part of the audience for a TV show. The Rockefeller Centre
has TV studios running all the time and if you book in advance on
the net you could be in the audience for chat show kings such as Conan
O’Brien and David Letterman. It’s not exactly John Daly,
but it’s alright!!
Central
Park. Probably the world’s most famous city park, covering
843 acres of prime real estate. It runs for 50 blocks from the upper
east side over there to the upper west side over there. The park is
always packed in the summer but don’t underestimate it’s
charms in the winter months. The Wolman ice rink is in a spectacular
setting and is much bigger than the one at the Rockefeller centre.
