About the Programme

In 1976 the Dangerous Wild Animals Act became law in England and Wales - however the act did not apply to Northern Ireland who had more pressing problems at the time-The Troubles. Filmed over 18 months from 2006 when the Dangerous Wild Animals Act became law in Northern Ireland this film is the story of the owners, the dealers and the EHS as they strive to enforce the Dangerous Wild Animals Act in Northern Ireland.  Who knows what is really out there?

The Lion, The Keeper and The Dealer is a Tern TV production for BBC Northern Ireland.
